Be still, I am God
As I walk trough the valley of temptation and suffering
Getting caught up in those shadows of sin and death and sorrows
Beads of perspiration running down my forehead, hearing voices telling me
that I will never make it, that my life is at an end
Then I break down and I cry to you
Lord Jesus, help me see this through
I know that I'm not strong enough
to do this by myself
I'm over doing it my way.
I need you to come save the day
Father God, won't you reach down and let me place my hand in yours
I expected thunder, wished a hurricane to wipe my problems and my troubled days away
Make it quick and make it fast
But the Lord God came not in thunder, not in rain and not in hurricane
I looked, I could not find him in the noise around me
Then, out of the blue,
out of the peace
out of the quietness I hear a voice telling me
Be still, and know, I am God
Be still, I am God.
Now a major part of life is full of trials and tribulations
Bringing you down to your knees cause of the heavy weight your shoulders have to bear
Many times, I must admit that I've been in that situation, where I'm flat out on the ground
The pieces of my life are shattered everywhere
As I lay there broken I cry out, the only one who can help me now
is the one who knows I'm not strong enough, to do this by myself
I'm over doing it my way.
Lord, I need you to come save the day
Father God, won't you reach down and let me place my hand in yours
I expected thunder, wished a hurricane to wipe my problems and my troubled days away
Make it quick and make it fast
But the Lord God came not in thunder, not in rain and not in hurricane
I looked, I could not find him in the noise around me
Then, out of the blue,
out of the peace
out of the quietness I hear a voice telling me
Be still, and know, I am God
Be still, I am God.
